Dear Friend,
When it comes to prospering relationally we are always going to be challenged in this area because people all have free wills and different moods and desires. Learning to live together on this earth successfully is a lifelong process that can be easier if we are willing to do it GODs way AND BE HUMBLE.
What is GODs way to relational success? Jesus tell us in the New Testament of the Bible to LOVE GOD, ourselves and others and to treat others as we desire to be treated. First we have to cultivate a love and appreciation for GOD (vertically) and then we will be better able to love ourselves and other people (horizontally).
Love does no harm or bad. Love puts others first. Love does and acts in the best interest of. For example to love GOD we would obey His commandments which would be very wise and we would study his Word daily and pray spending time with Him. To love ourselves we would choose to take care of ourselves by working out, worshipping GOD, studying the Bible and hanging out with decent people who will encourage and inspire us to rise hire. To love others would be to do good unto others by smiling at them, walking away to avoid brawling when we feel that the conversation is getting out of hand, seeking peace, giving compliments and thinking the best of others.
This isn’t always easy but our relationship with GOD through faith in JESUS will help us to succeed relationally and in every other area for that matter. His grace is amazing giving us the ability to do what we couldn’t do on our own. Lately people have been coming out there lip in a foul disrespectful way to me tempting me to react in a foul disrespecting way back at them. Good thing I know and understand what’s happening. See I am real real close to some of the good things GOD has for me coming to pass in my life and the devil is trying his best to stop those things so he could try to prove GOD to be untrue to His Word and unable to provide for His kids. The devils ultimate goal is to get us to turn away from JESUS and worship him and spend eternity in Hell with him, why? Cause misery loves company. We must recognize our true enemy for who he is, not the person being used by him to attack us, they are just puppets who need love, grace and forgiveness.
We need not fear man either, this is a snare. Fear sends out a sense and our opponent when they sense we are afraid whether the devil, a human or an animal or reptile then they get the upper hand and think they can mess with us and defeat us. Fear must be replaced with love, faith, confidence and trust in JESUS the Lord Son of the living GOD. We need to stand up to our foes with the strength of GOD. If someone starts to pick a fight with us and we see it getting physical we should be the better person to avoid the fight by getting away from the situation but not in fear but love. We need to guard our words when angry, stop quickly and catch ourselves. Prepare for moments like these by praying and being aware that they happen to us all especially us who are really truly doing the will of GOD in community.
In closing I want to bring to your attention the results of fighting and strife. Fighting and strife leads only down. Jails, hospitals, extra bills, courts, regrets, sorrow etc. There are many fights that can be and should be avoided by humbling ourselves and denying pride in the name of JESUS by the power of GOD. Sometimes there may be an argument or disagreement between a couple or friends that can be worked out and in this case we shouldn’t just walk away unless we sense that its leading to physical fighting and then we should and try to come back later after we though about things and cooled down a bit. When we talk to people we need to be led by the spirit and talk to them as we would desire someone to talk to us. Try to work through our arguments at all costs and solve the problems but walk away if it gets hostile. You will be the better person for doing so and so glad after.
Check out 1 Corinthians ch 13 in the Bible and seek to live it. Anyhow I encourage you to take the low road and seek peace, pursue it and be blessed on your journey to successful, prosperous relationships.
